Kitchari is a rice and beans dish from India, known in Ayurveda to be a balancing and cleansing food that is equally satisfying. Kirtan, call-and-response chanting, is gaining popularity across the country, enriching many people’s lives with a joyful, heart-opening experience. Musicians include Deborah Jaishree Spielman on percussion and vocals, Ben Williams on tabla, Paul Gavan on mridangam/guitar, John Calabria on harmonium, Dazza Greenwood on guitar, Jagan-Nath Khalsa on violin, Shiva Ramakrishnan on Bansuri flute, & Danny Solomon on bass guitar, as well as some surprise kirtaneers.
